•  Comprehension passages get longer, and the questions start asking why rather than what.

•  They stop leaning on the introduction they practised and learnt in P4.

•  The composition plan is theirs to build, not a template to fill in.

•  Detailed phrase banks, phrasal verbs and idioms are reinforced until they come out naturally.

•  Grammar gets ironed out. Subject verb agreement and tense slips stop pulling marks off good ideas.

•  Language is chosen deliberately for effect, not pulled off a list at random.

The biggest jump of them all

•  Summary writing is introduced, and carries up to 15 marks in Paper 2.

•  Composition goes from a picture based narrative to 350 to 500 words, with situational writing on top.

•  Oral changes shape entirely. Reading aloud and a stimulus conversation become a planned response and a spoken interaction.

•  Four papers instead of two.

•  The components stay the same. The texts do not. Passages get longer and denser.

•  Essay prompts turn abstract, so a personal story on its own no longer answers them.

•  Summary work tightens to roughly 80 words, and lifting is penalised.

•  Expository and argumentative writing arrive together. Both need a position, not a narrative.

•  Comprehension asks students to evaluate the writer’s craft, not locate the answer.

•  Vocabulary in context wants precision. A near enough synonym scores nothing.

•  Concepts that were unfamiliar in S3 get ironed out before the grind starts in S4.

•  Gaps are fixed now, rather than found during the prelims.

Do I need to be an existing student?

No. The Kickstart Programme is open to everyone, and there is no obligation to continue with us in 2027.

How big are the classes?

Capped at 12 students, so every child gets time with the teacher and written feedback on their work.

When do I pay?

After we confirm the slot. Fees are $240 before GST for the full 4 days, paid by PayNow to our business UEN.

What does my child bring?

Just a pen and a file. All notes, worksheets and the take home revision pack are provided.
